Certificate of Excellence Winner 2011- 2019

Our small group tour departs from Edinburgh, calls in at Glasgow and then heads to gorgeous Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and the adventure destination of Go Ape. Here you’ll be in the thick of nature, climbing, swinging and zip-wiring high in the trees and gulping in views that only thrill-seekers get to enjoy.

The Treetop Challenge offers easy and extreme sections. However brave you’re feeling that day, you’ll start with a thrilling 300 metre zip wire and end with a heart-in-your-mouth 400 metre zip wire that’s one of the UK’s longest. From the safety of your harness you’ll be flying over lush forest and waterfalls, all with the spectacular background of the Trossachs’ hills, valleys, rivers and glens.

Once your feet are firmly back on solid ground we’ll have lunch here before carrying on our road trip to the Scottish Highlands through Tyndrum and historic Bridge of Orchy. After the lush, rolling slopes of the Trossachs, Rannoch Moor can be bleak and desolate but it’s also breath-takingly beautiful with its blanket bog, rocky outcrops, flora and fauna. Look out for curlews, grouse and red deer.

The moor soon gives way to the towering mountains of atmospheric Glencoe and we take the road less travelled to Glen Etive. Here, your knowledgeable driver-guide will point out where legendary characters James Bond and M stood to drink in the spectacular scenery in the epic film Skyfall and you can recreate the scene with your own camera.

Back in Glencoe we’ll pull over for a chance to appreciate and photograph this eerie but beautiful glen before heading to our overnight destination of Fort Augustus, a tourist town full of character that sits at the southern tip of Loch Ness. This is the Great Glen, a natural faultline that cuts Scotland diagonally in two from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east. It’s now a popular trail for hikers and bikers and the setting of the Caledonian Canal, one of the world’s greatest waterways and there’s much entertainment to be had watching the boats navigate the village’s locks.

On day two of our Highland adventure tour, prepare to be truly awoken with a thrilling 90-minute RIB ride on Loch Ness. This power boat ride will have you on the edge of your seat, with the wind ripping through your hair. It’s an exciting way to explore some of Loch Ness and, who knows, you might even catch a glimpse of the Loch Ness Monster, whom we affectionately call Nessie.

As we say cheerio to Nessie our Highland Adventure tour heads south east, through sweeping green hills to the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. There’s some outstanding wildlife to be seen: if you keep your eyes peeled you might catch a Golden Eagle or Osprey or even the Monarch of the Glen himself, the red deer stag.

Our destination is the densely wooded river gorge at Killiecrankie where our final and most adrenaline-filled thrill of this Scottish adventure tour awaits – a bungee jump (for ages 14 and over). Should you wish to accept this mission, you’ll leap from a platform just below the Garry Bridge and hurtle 40 metres down towards water before the springy bungee cord halts your descent and you’re winched back to the platform. It’s the ultimate adrenaline rush at Scotland’s first bungee destination and the experts at Highland Fling Bungee will ensure you have a safe and unforgettable experience.

If a bungee jump is a stretch too far for your nerves, why not try the Highland Fling bridge swing instead. Again, 40 metres above the River Garry, in full body harness, you’ll freefall around 15 metres before the rope takes the slack and you accelerate through an arc underneath the bungee platform before you’re anchored and winched back to where you started.

Afterwards, you’ll feel like you’ve conquered the world and you can purchase photos and video to show off to your friends.

With the adrenaline rush over, we’re back on four wheels and head into the charming Highland tourist resort of Pitlochry for a late afternoon refreshment before dropping you off in Edinburgh.
