A warm welcome awaits when you join the award-winning Discover Scotland Tours for one of our shore excursions from the Ocean Terminal Greenock (Glasgow).
Your kilted driver-tour guide will be waiting to greet you on disembarking your cruise ship. Our small group shore excursions have a maximum of 16 persons on each coach. This is by far more personal than by travelling in a large group.
As a result, we can get off the beaten track and take you to places where larger coaches cannot. With a choice of 3 shore excursions we’re sure you’ll find an itinerary that will make your tour from Greenock a memorable one.
On our ever popular Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle & Trossachs shore excursion you’ll be able to visit Stirling Castle, its location even rivals Edinburgh Castle for sheer magnificence. One of Scotland’s most famous castles, it overlooks the site of where the battle of Stirling Bridge took place, and where William Wallace (of Braveheart fame) defeated a much larger English army in 1297.
Explore the Highland village of Luss that sits on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and enjoy the scenery as we travel through the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. If we have sufficient time we’ll make a short stop at Glasgow Cathedral and George Square in the city of Glasgow.
Our Highland Lochs, Glens & Castles shore trip will take you to some of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring views Scotland and the Scottish Highland’s has to offer. Visit the magnificent Inveraray Castle, built by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, chief of the powerful Clan Campbell.
Enjoy some lunch at the Drovers Inn. Over the years this old traditional Highland pub has welcomed the great and good through its doors including Rob Roy MacGregor. If you want to learn more about this famous outlaw and the Jacobites then we would highly recommend our Rob Roy and the Jacobites excursion.
Journey back through 17th century Scotland where we’ll visit Doune Castle, one of the best preserved medieval castles in Scotland. Immerse yourself in the lives of the Jacobites including the famous Rob Roy MacGregor. Our scenic trip through the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, also known as MacGregors country will bring us to historic Ledard Farm.
Here you will experience a traditional Scottish gathering, featuring an address to the haggis. Enjoy a two course lunch followed by music, poetry and song from Fergus and Gregor. To enjoy a Ceilidh (a social event with Scottish music, singing and storytelling), visitors are encouraged to participate.
