Travel in Confidence

Firstly, on behalf of everyone at Discover Scotland Tours we would like to thank you for your support during these last few months. We hope you and your loved ones have been able to remain happy, healthy and safe during this time.

Our Response

Following guidance from the Scottish Government, we have been working tirelessly behind the scenes in order to introduce new safety measures and protocols for both our team and our passengers.

Taking into consideration both Government and World Health Organisation advice, we have detailed below the actions Discover Scotland Tours are taking to ensure maximum safety for all whilst also offering our well established professional service.

Certificate of Excellence Winner 2011- 2020

  1. Safety – The safety of our passengers and colleagues is of the utmost importance to us at all times but even more so in the current climate.
  2. Hand Sanitiser – Hand sanitiser will be available on all of our coaches. We strongly advise passengers to use this frequently throughout the day as well as when boarding and alighting from your coach.
  3. Tour Leaders – On the day of travel, your Tour Leader will be temperature checked. For your safety and theirs, your Tour Leader will wear a facial covering except when driving as per the Department for Transport guidance. The wearing of a mask whilst driving may impact their ability to drive.
  4. Sanitised Coaches – Before and after each tour, our coaches will be fully cleaned and sanitised by our qualified team. All our coaches will be further sanitised by use of a fogging machine. The antibacterial & antiviral surface disinfectant used in the fogging machine uses pressure to create a fine mist (or fog) which is applied within the coach. The fine fog reaches into corners and areas that are difficult to get to during normal cleaning. This additional cleaning measure will further help prevent the spread of any possible bacteria ensuring your coach will be fully sanitised prior to going out on tour.
  5. Touch Points – Throughout your tour, any common touch points and areas with high traffic will be sanitised thoroughly as another form of prevention.
  6. Contactless Check-in – In order to adhere to social distancing measures, printed confirmation of your tour will not be required. Please just state your name and your Booking ID.
  7. Face Coverings – All passengers on board MUST wear a facial covering as another form of prevention whilst in the enclosed space of the coach (We understand some passengers may be medically exempt from wearing face coverings. In these instances we will require advance written notice).
  8. Protective Screens – As an additional measure for our loyal customers, Discover Scotland Tours has installed protective screening for each seat on our coaches.

Social Distancing Onboard

In line with the social distancing guidelines, we have reduced our tour capacities from 16 passengers to 10 to allow safe space for all.

Flexible Bookings

If you have been in contact with someone with Covid-19 and/or are experiencing any of the below symptoms, please do not attempt to travel with us. Contact our team via and we will re-schedule your tour for a later date, free of charge.

  1. A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).
  2. A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature).
  3. A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.

Our Partners

When you choose to travel with Discover Scotland Tours, you can rest assured that our partners including accommodation providers and visitor attractions are of the highest standard and are also adhering to the new safety measures for prevention.

We have worked hard to implement these safety measures for all, however we do also kindly ask you to take personal responsibility for any of your own personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to social distancing measures whilst on tour with us.

We’re “Good To Go”

We are pleased to confirm that we have successfully secured our brand new tourism industry certification and are now officially “Good To Go”. This ensures Discover Scotland Tours has demonstrated that we are adhering to the respective Government and public health guidance, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and have the appropriate processes in place.
