What do you need to know before your tour?

Please see below some helpful reminders of the things you may wish to bring or consider before your tour. You can view a full list of our general FAQs here, as well as tour specific FAQs in the tour details section of each tour page.

What to wear? Scottish weather can be very unpredictable, please bring appropriate clothing for the weather on the day of your tour. Waterproofs and warm clothing is advised for most seasons of the year.

Where can we eat? Your tour will make a lunch stop where there will be cafes, restaurants and/or shops from which you will be able to purchase lunch. You are welcome to bring lunch with you if you like. We do ask that no hot food is brought onto the coach however.

On our 3 day tours there will also be places to purchase an evening meal in the village where you are staying as well as the surrounding villages.

What to bring?:

Cash – some of our tours require our optional extras to be paid in cash, this will be noted on your tour page. Also due to a lack of mobile signals, card machines do not always work in all areas of the Highlands. Therefore it is always best to carry some money with you too. On our 3 day tours all of your optional extras & your accommodation are all paid in cash.

Sunscreen  – is always useful as we never know when the sun will come out in Scotland!

Midge repellent – can be helpful in the warmer months, particularly for those who suffer more from insect bites.

Motion Sickness treatment – Scottish roads can be narrow and twisty which is not ideal for those who suffer from motion sickness. If you do suffer from motion sickness we advise bringing motion sickness medication or natural treatment to ensure you can fully enjoy your tour.

Luggage – should you require to bring luggage with you on a 1 day tour or if you are travelling on a 3-day tour please note our luggage restrictions of 10kg per person in a medium size case plus a small handbag/laptop case which can be brought on the coach. This is set due to the legal weight limit of the coach and cannot be exceeded. There are left luggage facilities in the bus and train stations in both Glasgow and Edinburgh should you require to leave any luggage behind while on tour.

Water – we do not provide refreshments on our coaches. While we do make regular stops, bringing along something to drink is always a good idea.

Lastly, a camera – or phone to take photographs of the beautiful Scottish scenery. If you do take some photos please do share them with us on social media, we love to see photos of our passengers enjoying their tour.
