Driver-Guides

Applications are currently being invited for full time permanent and part time driver-guides to start on 22nd Feb 2019.

Becoming a driver-guide for Discover Scotland Tours is about much more than being able to drive our modern fleet of luxury Mercedes 16 seat mini-coaches. It’s about helping to create lifelong memories for our customers – customers who come to Scotland from all corners of the globe.

Our tours take in the very best of what Scotland has to offer, but it’s our driver-guides who make every one special by providing a fun and informative insight into Scotland’s rich history, ancient culture and breath-taking natural landscapes.

They say variety is the spice of life and every day is different as a driver-guide.  You’ll be meeting, driving and chaperoning a new group of people almost every day, so abundant energy, patience and compassion, as well as the ability to think on your feet, are important pre-requisites for the job.

What We Require 
• You must hold as a minimum – a category D1 PCV licence
• A passion for Scotland
• An infectious enthusiasm for telling visitors about our stunning country
• Have what it takes to deliver unrivalled Highland Tour experiences
• Exceptional customer service

What You Will Receive
• On-the-job training by the very best driver-guides in the business
• £10.00 per hour (currently under review)
• On completion of two years service, you receive an increased (loyalty) rate of pay, (currently an additional 50p per hour)
• Performance Bonus Scheme
• Pension
• On completion of 3 years service you will receive free private medical insurance (subject to acceptance by the medical insurance company)

Operations Assistant

Full time permanent position available. 

Discover Scotland Tours currently have a vacancy for an Operations Assistant to join our team.

The role of the Operations Assistant is a shift based (between the hours of 06:30 – 22:15), customer focused role which covers the following aspects:

  • Processing tour bookings – via telephone, email and our websites online chat facility.
  • Responding to passenger queries – via telephone, email and our websites online chat facility.
  • Providing administrative support to our drivers – including the organisation of passenger pick-ups and delivering up to date traffic information.
  • Private tours – responding to requests and creating personalised itineraries.
  • General administrative tasks – including organisation/management of passenger information and collation of performance data.

Customer service and basic administrative skills are essential, while a working knowledge of Scotland is desirable.
